To Your Smile

Photo by Luke Braswell on Unsplash

Green grass racing through open fingers as wind blows through your hair.  Your feet racing across the green wonder that is grass on the hill.  The blue sky kisses the horizon and makes love to it with sunlight.  And your smile. That gorgeous smile.

The birds cut across from tree to tree, singing songs that we’ll never know the words to.  They could be calling us names and we’ll never know.  They could be singing our future and we’ll never know They could be singing their future,  And all we’ll ever know, Is here and now.

The trees sway in quiet dance to a tune unheard on the wind.  And their shadows play on the ground like a dance troupe rooted to a stage.  And for a second, A tiny second,  I hear the music of your soul. And the wind carries it To the trees,  And they dance.

The glorious day is complete,  The yellow sun traces her way across her blue ocean.  To shores unseen and unknown.  And I trace my fingers across your face.  And you smile.  And I smile.  I am Home
